Grassauer & Rottauer Alm tour

A visit to the Grassauer & Rottauer Alms is almost a must if you are in the area!

The route starts for you in the centre of Grassau, where you will find numerous parking spaces. After a short walk through the village area and surrounding fields, you are already at the foot of the Chiemgau Alps. From here, forest paths and trails lead you into the alm area. The first alm you reach is the Rachlalm. Through green alpine meadows, it continues to the Hefteralm. Those with some energy left can take a detour to the Rottauer Moieralm with a view of the Kampenwand and then return via the same path to Hefteralm. The descent to Strehtrumpf leads you over shady forest paths. At the former guesthouse, turn left. On slightly more challenging paths, continue descending until you return to Grassau and reach your starting point.
