The mountaineering villages Schleching and Sachrang are deeply embedded in the Chiemgau Alps, south of Lake Chiemsee. The mountaineering villages are surrounded by a lovely pre-Alpine landscape with lush meadows, forested pre-Alpine peaks and the typical rugged peaks of the Northern Limestone Alps. The connecting element of both villages is the most famous mountain of the Chiemgau: the Geigelstein (1,808m).
