Tour description:
The forest adventure trail circles Staffen and offers you variety and hiking fun for the whole family. The day starts with a ride on the Hochplattenbahn. In about 20 minutes, the chairlift takes you to the mountain station. Now you go a short way uphill until you reach the low-gradient circular trail.
From here, a very varied path with sunny and shady passages, forest paths or panoramic views awaits you.
Play and learning stations of course must not be missing here.
Our tips:
- If you want to extend the route a bit, you can save the trip on the Hochplattenbahn and start hiking directly from the valley station (about 1.5 hours longer)
- After the successful hike, you can stop by the Berggasthof Staffn-Alm

Arrival by car
Coming from the A8 Munich-Salzburg: take the Bernau exit, then take the second exit at the roundabout towards Reit im Winkl. Drive through Bernau and Rottau to Grassau. At the roundabout here, take the second exit. After leaving the town, turn right behind the chapel - here is the first signpost to the Hochplattenbahn - and follow the road to Piesenhausen. Turn right at the intersection. At the end of the road is the parking lot of the Hochplattenbahn.
