From the Maypole in the village center to the summit of the Hochplatte and back: This circular hike around the Hochplatte, with 1,000 meters of elevation gain, offers not only the thrill of reaching the summit but also spectacular views of Lake
Chiemsee and the Chiemgau Alps, as well as several opportunities to stop for refreshments at mountain huts (Piesenhauser Hochalm, Staffnalm, Hefteralm).
The route climbs steadily along forest roads and varied mountain trails up to the scenic summit area at an elevation of 1,586 meters. Wide trails gradually give way to narrow mountain paths that repeatedly require concentration and sure footing.
