Tour description:
Starting point lake Weitsee / Röthelmoos can be reached by public bus or hiking bus. The hike to the Röthelmoos Alm (path no. 49) follows the course of the stream between Kienberg and Tempelberg.
After just under an hour, the valley widens. A rest hut with a fountain invites you to take a breath. The route continues along the high moor to the Röthelmoos - Almen (894m).
Special features: high moor with the flora of a moor protection area. At the end of the hiking trail or on the way to Ruhpolding, there is the "Röthelmoosklause", a 250-year-old cultural monument erected at the wooden meeting point.
In the area of the alpine pastures, there is a beautiful view of the Gurnwand and Hörndlwand mountains.
Tip: Attention - the route is also a popular bike path or mountain bike route. Asking for mutual consideration. After the hike you can swim in the lakes.
Ideal for families with small children who can also let off steam by the quiet stream. When you arrive at the alpine pasture, you can watch peaceful cows grazing.

Coming from Munich or Salzburg on the Munich - Salzburg motorway (A8 to Grabenstätt exit no. 109), continue towards Marquartstein and on the well-developed German Alpine road (B305) to Reit im Winkl. At the entrance to the village (Entfelden) in the direction of Ruhpolding approx. 6 km to lake Weitsee. Parking: -Lake Weitsee (designated parking lot).
