Tour description:
Highlights of the tour: view of the Kaiergebirge, Entenlochklamm with turquoise-green water, Klobenstein church, suspension bridge over Tiroler Ache, Streichenkirche.
From the starting point at the tourist information, the tour goes in the direction of Oberbichl to the Hotel Peternhof. Here, following the road to Kössen with a view of the imposing Kaiser Mountains.
From Kössen, follow the winding main road through the Achen river breakthrough "Entenloch gorge". A detour to the Klobenstein Church on the suspension bridge over the Ache river is worthwhile.
Following the road, after the third tunnel on the right, there is the junction up to the Achberg. A detour to the Streichenkirche church with its restaurant is ideal here. Over the Donaueralm, below the Chiemhauseralm, it goes along the Schlierbach river down to Hinterwössen.
Here follow the road to Oberwössen and another 500 m along the main road towards Reit im Winkl. Then turn right into the Aßberggraben, now another 400 m uphill to the Hutzenalm. Downhill from here to the starting point via Birnbach.
Once there was a woman who was surprised by a mudslide while hiking through the valley. In the legend about the origin of the Klobenstein rock we learn how she desperately prayed to the Mother of God when the stone is said to have split and thus saved her from death. A visit to the small pilgrimage church of Maria Klobenstein is worthwhile.

Coming from Munich or Salzburg on the federal motorway Munich - Salzburg (A8 to Grabenstätt exit no. 109), continue in the direction of Marquartstein and on the well-developed German Alpine Road (B 305) to Reit im Winkl.
