Museum Salz & Moor - Klaushäusl

Salt has always played an important role in Chiemgau . The industrial monument still houses an original brine pumping station , which was in operation between 1810 and 1958. It is a reminder of how the brine was transported back then. Thanks to this pump, brine could be pumped over a distance of 107 kilometers from Bad Reichenhall to Rosenheim. In addition to some details about this special method of transport, guided tours provide many other insights into the history of salt in the region.

tip

The moor adventure trail leads to the Kendlmühlfilzen nature reserve just a few meters from the Salz & Moor Museum. Children and families get their money's worth here in every season.

The 800-meter walk takes between half an hour and a full hour. Caution: Because the moor is a very wet habitat, the path can be under water in a few places after rainfall. Waterproof shoes are therefore not wrong ...
