Tour description:

Ideal route for experienced mountain bikers to the Piesenhausener Hochalm.

The starting point is Grassau, from where well-developed paths lead towards Marquartstein. Past the valley station of the Hochplattenbahn, continue over wide paths and forest roads steadily uphill to the Piesenhausener Hochalm at 1,360 meters altitude.

The alm is open daily from early May to the end of October. From the alm, you enjoy a breathtaking view of the Chiemsee and the surrounding mountains. 

Whether a hearty snack or coffee and cake – here you can recharge before the return journey.

The return leads back along the same route to Grassau.

Arrival by car

From the A8 coming from Munich:

At the roundabout, take the third exit towards Reit im Winkl. Follow the road through Bernau and Rottau. In Grassau, shortly after the parish church, turn left and immediately turn left again. The parking lot is now on the left side.

Parking at the destination

In the town center, behind the Gasthof zur Post at the Hefter parking lot.
