Tour description:

On the half-day SalzAlpenTour Marquartstein-Schnappenkirche you need one thing above all: enough time to breathe deeply in the quiet forest , to escape from everyday life and to recharge your batteries on some lonely benches. A highlight of the round is the great view at the Schnappenkirche.

At the Staudach monument there is a wooden bench with a good view of Marquartstein. If you take a closer look, you will find a memorial stone here. Shortly before the Schnappenkirche (1100 m) , a muddy path leads below the normal path to a spring, easily recognizable by the simple wooden cross and several small "Stoamandl" that are piled up. The view that you can enjoy on the benches in front of the Schnappenkirche is magnificent. On a clear day you can see down to Marquartstein and far beyond Lake Chiemsee. You have a view of Grassau and above the Tiroler Achen on the Kendlmühlfilze nature reserve.

Tip:

Take a snack with you, because there are no rest stops directly on the SalzAlpenTour Marquartstein-Schnappenkirche . However, the Staudacheralm (1150 m) can be reached on foot, about 35 minutes one way and about 130 meters in altitude from the Schnappenkirche.
