Fishing in the Chiemgau

Fishing and fly fishing at Chiemsee, Waginger See & Traun

Lake Chiemsee is not only extremely popular with water sports and hiking fans, but also with anglers. Around 30 species of fish swim in Lake Chiemsee, the "bread fish" of Lake Chiemsee's fishermen is the whitefish. Waginger and Tachinger See also offer hobby anglers ideal conditions for a day on the water or even a complete fishing holiday in the Chiemgau-Area. Alz and Tiroler Ache are also good fishing areas. The white Traun near Siegsdorf is one of the five most popular fly fishing areas in the world.
