Tour description:
You start your ascent from the parking lot of the Unternberg drag lift in Ruhpolding (parking fee for tourers: €5.00). Along the ski run you keep to the left edge until you reach a terrain threshold past the Berggasthof Unternberghof. Down through a depression and along the former ski slope you continue uphill until the Weingartengraben becomes significantly steeper. Now follow the ski touring trail to the mountain rescue hut. Along the ten stations of the educational trail you will learn interesting things about walking technique, tracks, snow cover, avalanche awareness and much more. You can get to the Eisenberg if you continue your tour to the right up a wide aisle. Soon you will reach the wooded shoulder and the summit.
