Nature lovers can observe numerous species of birds, butterflies and dragonflies here.

Swimming at the Seeoner lakes

In the nature reserve there are individual designated opportunities to refresh yourself in summer. On the one hand, the lido at the Griessee offers cooling off in summer. On the other hand, there is the Seeon lido at the Klostersee. Located on the eastern shore of the Klostersee, the lido offers everything a bathing heart desires: from the lawn you can enjoy a wonderful view of Seeon Abbey , which is on the opposite side of the small lake. A jetty ensures bathing fun, while the little guests can let off steam on the playground and a slide . You are well looked after at the kiosk in the lido.

Explore nature reserve

Whether on foot or by bike, the nature reserve can be explored in many different ways. Two hiking trails run through the protected area and lead you from lake to lake. From Seeon, a hiking trail leads north-west to Brunnensee and Griessee, where you can refresh yourself after the hike. A second hiking trail runs through the western part of the Seeoner Seen and runs from Seeon past Seeleiten See to Bansee and back to Klostersee. If these tours are too far for you, follow the "small Klostersee tour" .

Numerous cycle paths also lead past the lakes. Follow the “Klosterweg” adventure cycle path and cycle from the Klostersee and Seeon monastery in a westerly direction. The tour takes you through the hilly landscape of the north of Chiemgau to other lakes such as Chiemsee and Hartsee . For those who still want "sea", follow the "16-lake circuit" that connects the Seeoner Seen and Eggstätt-Hemhofer Seenplatte nature reserves.

During a guided tour you have the opportunity to look behind the monastery walls.
